Working in the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic of our hospital. Assoc.Dr. ELİF BÖNCÜOĞLU gave important information about "Increasing Viral Infections in Children in Winter Months".

Assoc. Dr. ELİF BÖNCÜOĞLU said, “With the arrival of the winter months, there has been a serious increase in viral infections. Influenza, Covid-19, RSV and adenovirus infections are among the most common infections. These infections usually manifest with symptoms such as cough, runny nose, sore throat, widespread muscle and joint pain, high fever, diarrhea and vomiting.

To protect against infections, it is necessary to wash hands frequently, wear a mask in crowded areas, and ventilate closed areas frequently. During this period, it is important to drink plenty of fluids and eat a diet rich in vegetables and fruits. "When children have symptoms such as inability to feed, fever lasting more than 3 days, tendency to sleep, rapid breathing, it is necessary to consult a physician," he said.
