Leukemia is the most common type of cancer in childhood. It is slightly more common in boys than in girls. It is most common between the ages of 2-5. Its incidence is 3.4/100,000 per year. There are two most common types. They are Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia (AML).

A specific cause of the disease is not yet known. Its clinical symptoms are not very specific. Symptoms such as fever, bleeding, bruising, pallor, abdominal swelling, and bone pain may be observed. Blood tests may show anemia, thrombocytopenia and low or high white blood cell levels, or they may be completely normal.

Diagnosis; It is determined by blood count, peripheral smear and bone marrow examinations. Its treatment can largely be provided by chemotherapy. However, in some cases, bone marrow transplantation may also be required. Leukemia is a type of cancer that can be treated with a high rate of success. “I wish everyone a healthy day.” said.
