"Tobacco Addiction Treatment Training" Successfully Completed at Our Hospital
The "Tobacco Addiction Treatment Training Program," organized by the Konya Provincial Health Directorate, is being held at the Family Medicine Clinic of Konya City Hospital. The program was attended by our Provincial Health Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yavuz, Head of Public Health Services Dr. Hasan Çiftci, Deputy Head Dr. Aykut Emre Yıldırım, our Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Cüneyt Çiçek, hospital management, and numerous physicians. Speaking at the program, our Provincial Health Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yavuz stated that the fight against tobacco is a public health priority, saying; "Cigarettes and tobacco flourish, but prevention is paramount. As the Provincial Health Directorate, we are strengthening our fight every day to free ourselves from this addiction and build a healthy generation. Our aim with these trainings is to increase the competence of our expert staff and reach more of our citizens."
Our Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Cüneyt Çiçek also spoke at the event; "Our hospital plays a role in the fight against tobacco consumption at both the academic and clinical levels. With the services available in our smoking cessation clinics, we stand by citizens who want to break free from their habit," he said. Associate Professor Dr. Selma Pekgör, the Family Medicine Training Coordinator within the scope of the training, gave a detailed presentation on tobacco use data in Türkiye, current protocol treatments, and application methods. Following the program, our Provincial Health Director, Associate Professor Dr. Yusuf Yavuz, and his delegation visited our hospital's Smoking Cessation Clinics and examined the services. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the trainers who participated in the program.
