Emphasizing the importance of "18-24 September International Hearing Impaired Week", our Deputy Chief Physician, Specialist. Dr. Semra ARIBAŞ: “As our hospital, we consider this week as an opportunity to respect the rights of hearing-impaired individuals, raise social awareness and support them.
It should not be forgotten that improving the quality of life of hearing-impaired individuals is a part of transforming our society into a more inclusive and fair structure. It is a reflection of our respect for the rights of hearing impaired individuals and our society's commitment to these valuable individuals. As our hospital, we would like to reiterate our belief that every individual has the right to access the highest level of healthcare.
We know the critical importance of communication when providing our health services. Providing all the necessary opportunities for our hearing-impaired patients to manage their treatment processes more effectively is among our priorities.
In order to respond to the needs of our patients using hearing aids, to understand them more effectively and to provide support, we have "Induction Loop System" devices that prevent background noise at the patient information desk of the building entrance and exit doors of our hospital. Thanks to this system, we provide great convenience in meeting the communication needs of our patients who use many hearing aids.
I would also like to inform you that the "Sign Language Training" program, the second of which is planned for 2023, will be organized soon for our hospital employees, managed by our Provincial Health Directorate and carried out in cooperation with our hospital. I celebrate the International Week of the Hearing Impaired, and I would like to reiterate our support for the rights of hearing-impaired individuals and express our aim to provide a more inclusive and equitable health service.
“I invite all our colleagues to act together on this important issue and work together to improve the lives of all our disabled patients.” said.
